TED Talk Tuesday
In 1984, a conference was held where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged. (That first conference included demos of the Sony compact disc and the Apple Macintosh computer.)
An annual conference series followed, beginning in 1990. Today, it is a platform that shares ideas from a broad spectrum — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. The speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and engaging ways they can.
Thanks to technology, TED Talks are now podcast, and you can find a talk on just about anything you can think of.
And so it is that Mensa in Georgia now hosts a monthly TED Talk.
The conversation ranges far and wide discussing the types of TED talks available, and everything from fracking to outer space, the working of the mind, and the body's capabilities. Oh, and the food was good. Why don't you join us this month?
